Terms and Conditions of Sale
Art. 1 – COMMITMENT
Booking a lesson implies that the client will attend on the agreed date and time. Payment is made on-site in cash or by bank transfer, or in advance under defined conditions. In case of cancellation, the client must notify the school as soon as possible.
Art. 2 – CANCELLATION OF LESSONS
In the event of adverse weather (no waves, dangerous sea, pollution, etc.), lessons may be canceled or rescheduled by Medoc Surf Academy. The school will inform the affected clients. If rescheduling is impossible, clients will be refunded the amount of the cancelled lesson.
Art. 3 – STRUCTURE’S LIABILITY
Students are under the school’s responsibility only during class hours. Parents must ensure the lesson takes place before leaving their children. The school is not responsible for theft, loss, or damage of personal belongings.
Art. 4 – PHYSICAL FITNESS AND SWIMMING ABILITY
By booking, the client certifies being medically fit to practice surfing. For minors, parents declare that their child can swim at least 25 meters and submerge completely.
Art. 5 – PARENTAL CONSENT
Legal guardians authorize their child(ren) to participate in supervised lessons and accept the risks inherent in surfing.
Art. 6 – IMAGE RIGHTS
The client authorizes the use of photos/videos taken during lessons for social media or the school’s website. They may refuse this by contacting medocsurfacademy@gmail.com. In accordance with GDPR, clients may request access, modification, or deletion of their data.
Art. 7 – PAYMENT AND BOOKING TERMS
For bookings made more than 14 days in advance, payment must be made via bank transfer to confirm. In case of cancellation at least 7 days before the course, a refund is possible. After this period, the full amount is due. Last-minute bookings (under 14 days) can be paid in cash on site.
Art. 8 – EQUIPMENT
Loaned equipment must be used with care. Any loss, theft, or damage will be billed to the student.
Art. 9 – INSURANCE
The school has civil liability insurance for lessons. It is recommended that clients also have personal insurance covering surfing-related injuries.
Art. 10 – CONSUMER MEDIATION
In accordance with article L.612-1 of the French Consumer Code, unresolved disputes may be referred to a mediator. Clients may contact Médiateur Tourisme et Voyage – www.mtv.travel.
Art. 11 – FORCE MAJEURE
The school may cancel lessons due to force majeure (storm, pandemic, municipal order, etc.). No compensation will be granted.
Art. 12 – WITHDRAWAL RIGHT
In accordance with the Consumer Code, for online bookings, clients have a 14-day withdrawal period, unless the service takes place within this time frame with explicit consent. In such cases, no refund will be given.
